This year, the S.E.A.Write Award was bestowed upon a young man poet named Paiwarin Khao-Ngam, for his outstanding collection of poems "Ma-Kan-Kluay" ( Banana Tree Horse). The praise went for his beautiful wording in conventionally-strict form of Thai verse, and for his touching depiction as well as impressive reflection on the bewilderness felt by alienated rural immigrants in big cities.
